When you stop going to school, or drop below half-time status, your one-time six-month grace period begins. During a grace period you are not required to make payments on your loan. This gives you time to find employment and adjust your budget for a monthly student loan payment.
Loan repayment begins immediately following your grace period. If you already used your grace period and then returned to school, payments become due immediately after you drop below half-time status or stop attending school.
Responsible repayment of your student loans is an essential part of building a solid financial future.
