Personal Biography:

Why I went to college:

wanted to go to college to better my future. I came from a low income background and I wanted to do better for myself, and the only way I knew how was through education. If I could do it all over, I would have spent more time before college finding out what career I wanted to pursue and then decide on my major. I would have decided to double major while I was in school. I was really apprehensive about changing my major and in the end I kept the same major, but it will be more work for me to go back and get my second degree than it would have been if I did it all at the same time.

I know post-secondary education was worth my time, effort and investment because I would not have been afforded the opportunities that I have now. I definitely wouldn't be in the position I am in now without the educational experience that I have obtained. All of the work, time, and financial investment that I put into my education was definitely worth it.

Why I chose to be a College & Career Guide:

I wanted to be an ACAC Guide because it was my mission to be a part of something similar to what supported me in my education; programs such as TRIO, AVID, and GEAR UP. The ACAC program provides opportunities and resources to students and supports them along the way in their education and career goals.
