ACPE’s Success Center is here to serve you!

ACPE’s Success Center is here to serve you!

The Success Center offers free resources to all Alaska postsecondary students and their families.  For those unfamiliar with the Success Center, we’d like to share with you about our services.

One-on-One Coaching

Our trained staff provides one on one coaching, whether its career exploration and training research through AKCIS (Alaska Career Information System), or walking you through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  We can also assist you in creating your Alaska Student Aid Portal (ASAP) which gives you access to your Alaska Performance Scholarship and Alaska Education Grant information.  You can request an appointment by filling out the form on the lower right side of this page.

Group Presentations

Success Center staff engage as often as possible with communities across Alaska, by giving a variety of group presentations, either in person or virtually. Our most popular is Funding Your Future (FYF). In it, we cover the costs you can expect attending college or training schools and we provide ways to finance it.  FYF gives detailed information about keeping costs low by filling out your FAFSA, as well as information on free aid such as the federal PELL and FSEOG grants, the Alaska Education Grant (AEG), and scholarships.  Additionally, FYF covers information about federal and state loans, the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program, and much more. The average presentation takes about 30 to 90 minutes.  It is also worth noting, that on Wednesdays, we may be assisting with FAFSA Time Alaska’s FAFSA Wednesday’s events.  If you would like to have a presentation delivered to a group, you can request a presentation by filling out the form on the lower right side of this page.

Publications

Students, Parents, and Educators outside of the greater Anchorage bowl can request free publications by mail.  Additionally, we do put some of our publications online for you to gain access immediately, as well as reduce on paper.  Our College & Career Training in Alaska magazine and the Alaska Performance Scholarship Checklist are the two we refer to most.

Blog

Started less than two years ago, our blog has been one of our many methods to get information out to the public.  We do our best to make sure the content is relevant to the questions we are receiving, and we provide reminders and tips on most upcoming event dates.  A new blog is published every Tuesday morning and uploaded onto our Facebook page.  However, we do allow you to sign up to get a monthly email with all of the month’s blogs.  You can sign up on the right side of this page.

Our Locations

Although we are currently closed to walk-in services, ACPE offers two locations for the public.  Our main Success Center office is located in the Dimond Center Mall in Anchorage, on the 2nd level next to the movie theater.  Our UAA One Stop office is located in the Enrollment Services Center (formerly known as the Bookstore), on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus at 3211 Providence Drive Anchorage, AK 99508. While we are closed to walk-in services, we are always available by telephone at 907-269-7980 or 800-441-2962 option #4, and by email at acpesuccesscenter@alaska.gov

We wish you the best for the remainder of your summer. Have fun, stay safe and let us know how we can assist you!
