ACPE’s Robust FAFSA Completion Assistance – We’re Here for You!

ACPE offers various FAFSA completion pathways to assist Alaska students and their families through the FAFSA process, and to ensure their needs are met in a professional and stress-free environment. ACPE’s FAFSA assistance is readily available via FAFSA Time Alaska events, weekly FAFSA Wednesdays, and by appointment via the ACPE Success Center.

FAFSA Time Alaska events take place between October and May, and are geared towards group attendance (school, community, etc.). FAFSA Time Alaska events need to be registered in advance, and require involvement of a school representative (teacher, counselor, etc.). ACPE provides school representatives/site coordinators with free resources and information (handouts, materials, etc.) to host a successful FAFSA completion event. Participating students and families receive detailed walk-through the FAFSA process in the comfort and privacy of their home.

FAFSA Wednesdays take place every Wednesday, year round. FAFSA Wednesdays were created for individuals or families. Sessions are free to attend and no registration is required. Individuals can drop in at any time between 3PM and 6PM on Zoom to receive assistance with FAFSA completion, or to troubleshoot issues with their FSA IDs.

FAFSA assistance via ACPE Success Center is geared towards individuals who are unable to attend FAFSA Wednesdays. Although scheduling an appointment is highly recommended, it is not required. Similarly to FAFSA Wednesdays, individuals can expect expert-level assistance leading to a successful FAFSA completion.

ACPE recently joined a cross-agency collaboration led by the US Department of Education Federal Student Aid (FSA) to empower Alaskans to complete the FAFSA. Alaska FAFSA Completion initiative with a powerful motto: A Sea of Funding Opportunities for Your Education, aims at not only increasing the number of individuals who successfully complete the FAFSA, but also at growing the awareness of various options and opportunities that the FAFSA unlocks. By successful FAFSA completion, students can access the sea of funding that will allow them to attend a postsecondary school/career training program, and eventually reach their professional goals. More information about Alaska FAFSA Completion Campaign can be found here.

Reach out to Dominika Szpotanska, ACPE’s Program Coordinator, at any time, or visit https://acpe.alaska.gov/FINANCIAL-AID/The-FAFSA for more information about our FAFSA completion pathways.
