The Alaska Navigator: Statewide Workforce and Education-Related Statistics (ANSWERS) is a powerful tool for improving education and workforce outcomes in Alaska. ANSWERS links existing K-12, higher education and employment data to deliver critical information to Alaska’s policymakers, educators and general public about the state’s education continuum.
The four partner organizations--Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, Department of Education & Early Development, Department of Labor & Workforce Development, and the University of Alaska--will use ANSWERS to assess, evaluate, and improve their education and workforce programs and services in a secure and cost effective manner.
Every year over $2 billion is invested in Alaska’s K-12, postsecondary, and technical/workforce training. Using ANSWERS, the partner organizations will be able to identify which education and training programs are, or are not, doing the job of preparing Alaskans for the workforce. ANSWERS will provide efficient analyses of program outcomes and allow for informed data-driven decision making for our state.
