ACPE ANNOUNCEMENTS

On April 1, 2023, the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) will transfer the servicing of all ACPE's Education Loans to American Education Services (AES). If you need to make a payment or change an existing scheduled payment between April 1 and close of business on April 14, 2023, please contact our Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-800-441-2962 (907-465-2962 in Juneau). For more information, please review these frequently asked questions.

The Biden Administration recently announced that the US Department of Education will forgive up to $20,000 to Pell Grant recipients and up to $10,000 for non-Pell Grant recipients on their Federal student loans held by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). Borrowers are eligible for this student loan relief option if their individual income is less than $125,000 or $250,000 for households. However, Courts have issued orders blocking the student debt relief program. As a result, The Administration is extending the Federal student loan repayment pause until the litigation over the program is resolved. If the debt relief program has not been implemented and the litigation has not been resolved by June 30, 2023, payments will resume within 60 days.

Be aware that there is no fee for loan forgiveness. Avoid pursuing fraudulent offers to help get loan forgiveness that require fee payment and exercise caution clicking on malicious or unfamiliar links.
