Position: Community Outreach Supervisor

Personal Biography: As a first-generation college student, Krystal understands the importance of completing education beyond high school, as well as the unique obstacles facing Alaskan students. Krystal began her work with the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education in 2013, serving as a College and Career Guide for the Alaska College Advising Corps (ACAC). Working with students of Seward High School, Krystal helped pilot the ACAC distance program, which now serves more than 40 schools in rural and urban Alaskan communities. In 2014, she was promoted to Training and Development Specialist for the Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS). Working with educators and counselors across the state, Krystal provided instructional training and multimedia guidance in building Personal Learning and Career Plans (PLCPs), while assisting students with educational and career exploration.
In 2015, Krystal began her work as the ACPE Community Outreach Supervisor. In this role, Krystal fosters community relationships while traveling to remote areas of Alaska, presenting on postsecondary education opportunities, as well as state and federal financial aid programs.
