Remember, you should file the FAFSA as early as possible after it is released – some institutions have very early FAFSA deadlines – check with your school's Financial Aid Office to find out. Some programs may have later deadlines. The priority deadline to file the FAFSA for the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) and the Alaska Education Grant (AEG) is June 30.

SHEEO FAFSA Simplification Guidebook: Published by the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO), this comprehensive guidebook provides state higher education agencies resources, tools, and insights in relation to the new 2024-25 FAFSA.
The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE), with support from the University of Alaska, hosted its first Alaska FAFSA Summit on October 26-27, 2023. The Summit brought together education and workforce development stakeholders from secondary and postsecondary institutions, state agencies, community organizations/non-profits, and Alaska Native organizations to develop strategies to increase FAFSA completion through statewide initiatives and/or policies.
